When you can only see white salt pan for miles! December and January are peak summer months for Etosha. After an adventurous drive from the Namutoni gate, where we saw the lions, elephants, zebras, antelopes and ziraffes, we reached the Etosha pan. Some people miss it and do not stop here while going to the more touristy Okakuejo side. Pictures come out very nice here because there is always the natural backdrop here. White sand. And blue sky. The good thing is no sweathing despite being the peak summers. My brother Tanmay's family was with us with two curious young kids always looking at everything around in amazement. Harshit said he went on a school trip recently in India but could only see the footmarks of tiger. Well, here in Namibia no one was even counting how many ziraffes or zebra one saw.
Wow! only the superlative can be used!
I must have made a few trips to Sandwich Harbour. What do you wish to see? Ocean of sands, and where the desert meets the sea. A journey on 4X4 vehicle, sometimes driving on that narrow strip of sand which shows up only during the low tide. Seals, birds all along the way. And when we took the sandwich harbour cruise, there were dolphins to welcome us. Not to mention those flamingos who decided to visit us on the boat drawn by the fish food offered to them by the crew. One seal decided to jump on to the boat and become a co-passenger. Of course, the four kids (well, still. Should I name them? Anumita, Antara, Ankita, Srijan) were so excited throughout the journey. Well, others too were behaving like kids. I dont know if I will get the chance to visit Namibia again, but if I do, I will go to Sandwich Harbour again. For sure.
